A woman tried to deliberately collide with several motorists this Wednesday in Marseille. The 34-year-old suspect was holding a Koran during her arrest and boasted of being “in contact with terrorists”.
At around 2:30 p.m., the young woman was in her vehicle on a pass in the Calanques massif, in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille. After praying next to her vehicle, the young woman tried to deliberately collide with several motorists on Wednesday, December 22.
A gesture prevented after a passer-by managed to alert the police.
During her arrest, she would have shouted “Allah akbar” on several occasions, according to Le Figaro.
Known to the police for destroying private property, the suspect was holding a copy of the Koran in her hand when the police arrived on the scene. She prided herself on being “in contact with terrorists and having done well”.
She was praying next to her vehicle
In the early afternoon, the police received a phone call from motorists. The latter informed the police of a person praying on the track, next to his vehicle.
According to Le Figaro, a passer-by approached her thinking that she was going to throw herself into the void. He reportedly overheard the suspect talking with a man on the phone who ordered him to “press if the individual came near.”
After being taken into police custody, she was taken to the emergency room after feeling unwell, then she was hospitalized in psychiatry in the wake. In March 2019, the young woman had already stayed in a psychiatric hospital because of her “paranoid and delusional” state.
