Marsupilami by Philippe Lacheau: release date announced! Be very, very patient!

Pathé has just announced the release date of Philippe Lacheau’s next film, “Le Marsupilami”.

After 3 days max of Tarek Boudali, which to date has totaled 1.8 million admissions in French cinemas, the Fifi gang will tackle Marsupilami.

Announced last June, the feature film that Philippe Lacheau will direct is a new adaptation of André Franquin’s work, 11 years after Alain Chabat’s version which attracted 5.3 million spectators. The film is inspired by the comic strip created in 1952 by the Belgian author.

Pathé has just announced the release date of this adventure comedy: Marsupilami will therefore be released in theaters on February 4, 2026.

During the promotion of Tarek Boudali’s film, Philippe Lacheau told us that his seventh feature film as director was being written and that his entire crew would be back in front of the camera.

Julien Arruti, Tarek Boudali and Elodie Fontan – currently filming the French adaptation of the series Cat’s Eyes – should therefore appear in the casting.

“The Marsupilami is progressing very well, we are in the middle of writing. It’s a new universe, it’s very exciting to write, like all new projects“, Lacheau told us then.

Concerning the yellow creature with black spots, endowed with superhuman strength, measuring approximately 1 meter and having a prehensile tail that can extend up to 8 meters, Philippe Lacheau remains enigmatic but confides to us all the same: “It won’t be an actor but if all goes well there won’t be too many computer graphics either.”.

It is still unknown when the filming of Marsupilami will begin. As a reminder, Alibi.com 2, Philippe Lacheau’s latest production, brought 4.2 million spectators to our theaters.
