According to the doctors, Marteria also had to cancel a performance in Berlin on Friday due to the weather conditions.

Like Die Ärzte, Marteria (39) also had to cancel a concert planned for August 26 in Berlin. The rapper was actually preparing for a “tear” in the sold-out Waldbühne.

“Something happened that has never happened to us before”, Marteria explained on Instagram shortly before the event began in a video. “We have to cancel our show today. It’s not possible because of the storm warning. […] It’s too dangerous, storms are coming, thunderclouds. If anything happens… safety comes first.”

“We haven’t experienced anything like this before”

Apparently, the rapper initially wanted to perform anyway. Marteria explained in an Instagram story that afternoon that he had “received a thousand messages”. At this point he obviously still assumed that the concert would take place. He advised fans to bring rain jackets or the like. The 39-year-old asked: “We’re not made of sugar, are we?” If it rains for a moment, it doesn’t matter.

“We’ve also been banned from it now,” Marteria explained a few hours later, but added directly: “And that’s right, we can’t play the show. We haven’t experienced that either.” It was “the absolute horror that just happened”. He feels sorry for the fans who have come.

An alternative date for the concert has already been found. “The new date for the canceled concert in the Waldbühne is September 4th, 2022”, writes Marteria on Instagram. “We’re just sooo sad, but we’re looking forward to next week and to everyone who’s there.” The purchased tickets should remain valid.
