  • Martin Sellner is no longer allowed to enter Germany.
  • The immigration authorities of the city of Potsdam have confirmed a corresponding entry ban to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. Sellner himself also referred to the ban on Platform X.
  • The immigration authorities did not provide any further information about the ban for reasons of personal protection.
  • The Aargau cantonal police prevented a longer appearance last Sunday and expelled Sellner from the canton.

At the beginning of February, the city of Potsdam initiated entry ban proceedings against the former head of the right-wing extremist Identitarian movement in Austria, as “Zeit” reported online at the time.

Sellner then announced on his Telegram channel that he wanted to take legal action against such a possible entry ban into Germany. “My lawyer received a 33-page document in which an attempt was made to portray me as an agitator and subversive.” This means that the “entire new patriotic movement, from the party to the front, should be criminalized and banned in the long term,” he wrote.

The background is a meeting made public by the Correctiv research center in Potsdam at the end of November 2023. According to his own statements, Sellner spoke there about “remigration”, a combat term created in right-wing extremist circles, which means the systematic expulsion of immigrants and is intended to be justified. Politicians from the AfD as well as members of the CDU and the right-wing Values Union also took part in the meeting.
