Marvel fires its directors and screenwriters: in the Daredevil reboot, everything has to be redone!

A massive blow for the team of the series “Daredevil: Born Again” which was to mark the return of the hero to the series. Dissatisfied with the first results, Disney fired the directors and screenwriters.

It’s a series that lives up to its name badly. Daredevil: Born Again is not about to be reborn any time soon. This new series marked the return of the hero and his interpreter Charlie Cox after three seasons on Netflix. In She-Hulk, one of the latest Marvel productions, the vigilante already made a small appearance to mark his entry into the MCU.

But the situation today is critical. After the series stopped filming, impacted by the writers’ strike, Marvel producers, including Kevin Feige, were able to take a look at the first images. The result is not pleasing and the decision is radical: the directors and screenwriters, Chris Ord and Matt Corman, are fired. Above all, the series must be partly reversed. A little less than half of the 18 episodes had already been filmed.

This is what reveals The Hollywood Reporter in his investigation. According to anonymous sources, this new version was a far cry from the Netflix series, known for its violence and action. In this Daredevil: Born Again, the costume would only be visible from the fourth episode. The producers are currently looking for new writers and directors.

The investigation indicates that scenes and episodes would still be kept intact. Last minute additions or changes are commonplace at Marvel. This is the case for all films, but it’s rare for it to happen in the middle of production.

The Hollywood Reporter explains that the development of series at Marvel is somewhat chaotic. The Daredevil: Born Again case is not an isolated case. Thus, the article recalls that the creator and screenwriter of Moon Knight, Jeremy Slater, had left the project before director Mohamed Diab took over the reins.

The same goes for screenwriter Jessica Gao, author of She-Hulk, which was shelved when director Kat Coiro came on board the project. The article explains that Jessica Gao was called back during post-production.

For the Secret Invasion series, screenwriter and executive producer Kyle Bradstreet reportedly worked for a year on the scripts before finally being fired by Marvel, whose wish was to go in a new direction.

No information specifies, at the moment, who will be the replacements chosen to take over Darevil: Born Again. Already well delayed by recent strikes, the series is not about to land on Disney+.
