Dwayne Johnson congratulates Marvel on the success of “Black Panther 2” and encourages viewers to see his film “Black Adam” so that it surpasses “Fast & Furious 9” at the American box office.
As soon as it was released in American theaters on November 11, the Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever dethroned the DC film Black Adam, which was the box office leader since its release in the United States on October 21.
In its first weekend of release, Black Adam grossed $67 million in North American territory compared to $180 million for Black Panther 2.
The film worn by Dwayne Johnson has, to date, totaled $353 million at the international box office, while Black Panther 2 has already totaled $400 million worldwide.
In a good mood, Dwayne Johnson therefore spoke on his social networks to admit that Black Panther was stronger than Black Adam. The latter also congratulated the studio for the film which pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman.
He declares : “Thank you for the love you have for Black Adam, the film continues its way to the box office. In the USA the film is second at the box office and in the world too… I will tell you why we are only 2nd. It’s because we were kicked in the ass. (…)
I want to congratulate Disney and the entire Black Panther 2 team who did an amazing job on this movie. It’s great that Black Panther 2 is 1st and Black Adam second. These are the highest box office figures for a month of November. (…) We are all winners when the box office is booming.”

The former wrestler then encourages his fans to go see the DC film so that it exceeds Fast & Furious 9 at the national box office. “We have already exceeded the figures of Hobbs & Shaw. If we continue on this momentum we can perhaps overtake Fast 9 at the American box office. Fast 9 is a very big success in the United States.“
