Marvel recruits a huge star to save its MCU

Marvel wants to raise the level of its MCU and does not hesitate to call on renowned actors, in order to improve the general quality. And that’s actually a good thing.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing to welcome a new renowned actor: Giancarlo Esposito, famous for his roles in Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian. Contrary to the expectations of many fans who had imagined him in the role of Professor X, Esposito revealed during a panel at CCXP that he will play a completely different character. Although the precise details of this new role remain shrouded in mystery, the actor promises a more imminent and impressive appearance than viewers might expect. This is what the Collider media can reveal to us.

Marvel invites a big name

For years, Esposito’s name has been associated with various casting fantasies, particularly for the role of the leader of the X-Men, following rumors about the introduction of mutants in the MCU. However, his confirmation of playing an original character raises exciting questions about his potential impact in the Marvel Universe. With projects such as Deadpool & Wolverine on the horizon, it’s not impossible to speculate about his first appearance in this universe sometime soon.

Esposito, known for his talent in playing menacing characters, could add an intriguing dimension to one of the many projects in development at Marvel Studios. Productions such as Thunderbolts, The Fantastic Four and Blade are potential candidates where he could appear, although the exact timeline and role choice remain unconfirmed. Some fans are even talking about the possibility of seeing Esposito as a vampire antagonist in Blade, opposite Mahershala Ali.

In addition to his imminent entry into the MCU, Giancarlo Esposito is an actor whose career is punctuated by memorable roles. His portrayals of Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are particularly acclaimed, earning him two Emmy Award nominations. Not to mention his role as Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian.
