Marvel Studios: a first old school trailer for Werewolf by Night, the casting of the Thunderbolts and Captain America: New World Order specified

If the first day of the D23 Expo was marked by the productions live action and animation of disney and Pixar, the event long awaited by fans of the mcu was the Showcase Studio opening the festivities this Saturday. marvel studios was obviously there to talk to us about upcoming projects, even though the San Diego Comic-Con had already entertained us by revealing all of the productions of the Stage 5 and announcing two new films avengers who will come to close the Phase 6 and the Multiverse Saga. So, heavy in sight?

The panel kicked off with a stage performance by… Rogers: The Musical ! Yes, the musical present in the series Hawkeye. In the unexpected genre, it arises there. Then followed more or less long and interesting speeches around Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, iron heart, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Werewolf By Night, Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, Loki season 2, Fantastic Four, Echo, Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts and The Marvels.

Yes, although the rumor has been circulating for a while, we will be entitled on October 7th to a special Halloween program Werewolf by Night directed by Michael Giacchino and incorporated into mcuwhich was entitled to a first trailer disconcerting to say the least. Besides the black and white image, it’s a whole vintage aesthetic that transpires from the video, well helped by the old classic horror screams and various staging ideas that have had their day. In the main role, we find Gael García Bernal as Jack Russellwho will be the werewolf, while Laura Donnelly embodies the monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone. You will also notice that the decorations at the very end resemble those of the VAT and that the soldiers seem to be Timers with their sticks used to scramble. For once, there is something to be really intrigued!

You can find the new details for each project below, listed by category and in the order of their upcoming release. Re Secret Invasiondo not hesitate to take a look at our dedicated article.

Live action series

  • Ironheart (Fall 2023) – Anthony Ramos will play Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood, who has ties to dark magic, despite not possessing any basic powers in the comics. The precise nature of his role has not been specified. However, a first preview was shown to the public on the spot and it looked mean. Magic will clash with Riri Williams’ technology in the series according to Kevin Feige. Otherwise, the character camped by Alden Ehrenreich was seen checking Riri, while that of Jim Rash was shown, who will a priori be Dean Bryant, Riri’s adviser at MIT.
  • Echo (summer 2023) – A first preview was shown, ending with a preview of the Kingpin. The series is set to portray more of the Native American heritage of the character played by Alaqua Cox (Maya Lopez), who has been seen beating up enemies. The latter and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk) were present on stage, promising incredible scenes where they are together.
  • Loki season 2 (summer 2023) – Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), Owen Wilson (Agent Mobius) and Ke Huy Quan took the stage, the latter joining the cast. A first glimpse was shown with Loki back at TVA and sent back through time, stating that war is coming.
  • Daredevil: Born Again (Spring 2024) – The series already offers a new logo with the two “D” symbolizing the alter ego of Matt Murdock surrounded by a circle. Vincent D’Onofrio was joined on stage by Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), but nothing new was drawn from it, since it was a Daredevil clip from She-Hulk which was broadcast, the filming of the series has not yet started.
  • Armor Wars (undated) – The story of Secret Invasion will lead directly to that of Armor Wars, which is still planned and will begin filming next year with Don Cheadle reprising his role as James Rhodes (War Machine). By the way, a new logo has been revealed.

Feature films

  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (November 11) – A never-before-seen preview was shown to the crowd, in which Queen Ramonda attends a United Nations meeting to talk about the dangers of Vibranium, followed by an action scene with the Dora Milaje, including Aneka played by Michaela Coel . In addition to director Ryan Coogler, performers Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Namor (Tenoch Huerta) and Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) also took the stage, the latter of whom said Chadwick Boseman was “with them” throughout the filming and that they had to reach its level of excellence, while the actor playing Namor (and who learned to swim for the role) indicated that this film does not is not just entertainment and goes way beyond that.

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17, 2023) – Besides the fact that Jonathan Majors (Kang) designates Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) as the sexiest man alive and that, conversely, the interpreter of Scott Lang speaks of him as being incredible, the most interesting was the on-site broadcast of a new preview of the film. This one opened with a road trip with Scott, Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lily), and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), and later teased MODOK’s appearance. A scene confirmed the return of agent Jimmy Woo who we will find chatting with Scott over a meal, him who has become a famous author, saying that his daughter is as problematic as him and that he must her recover in jail. She works with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to help people by developing a quantum communications system, but it’s her experiments that will send the whole gang (Scott, Hank and Cassie) to the quantum realm where the King is. Krylar (Bill Murray). The preview ends with Kang asking Ant-Man if he ever killed him and forcing him to play thieves again by recovering something stolen from him. Kevin Feige also said that the movie will tie directly into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, logical.
  • The Marvels (July 28, 2023) – A first preview was shown on location in the presence of the three heroines and director Nia DaCosta, in which Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) switch places (from the same than at the end of Miss Marvel) as their powers are tangled. Zawe Ashton will be the antagonist of the film.
  • Captain America: New World Order (May 3, 2024) – Again, new logo for the film with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) directed by Julius Onah, highlighting the wings of his armor that we discovered at the end of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We learned that the enemy of the film will be the Leader, also known as Samuel Sterns, who will be played by Tim Blake Nelson. And if that means anything to you, it’s because he already played the character in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk, which is part of the MCU. Actress Shira Haas will play a certain Sabra, an Israeli superheroine, just like her, who appeared in the Hulk comics and who is also a mutant! Other returns, that of Danny Ramirez on the one hand, whom we had seen in the series mentioned above and who will resume his role of Joaquin Torres, a soldier who in the comics has become the Falcon, and Carl Lumbly on the other hand in as Isaiah Bradley.

  • Thunderbolts (July 26, 2024) – The members of the team giving its name to the feature film have been revealed, with finally only well-known faces, namely the mysterious Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss), the Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker aka US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) and dear Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). Andy Park produced a superb illustration of the band for the occasion. Now, the connection between all the more earthly productions of Phase 4 is more than obvious. The film will be directed by Jake Schreier, with a screenplay by Eric Pearson.
  • Fantastic Four (8 November 2024) – Alas, no casting details were given, but we now know that Matt Shakman (WandaVision) will be the director, replacing Jon Watts.
