Marvel: this superhero should be back on Disney+!

Moon Knight, a new Marvel series worn by Oscar Isaac, should indeed have a season 2 announced by the actor himself.

Spoiler alert! This article reveals details about the outcome of Moon Knight. If you haven’t seen the series and don’t want to be spoilede, do not read the following.

Disney+ has brought big changes to the MCU, as the majority of new heroes are no longer introduced to the universe via big-screen blockbusters but begin their adventures on the streaming service. Among them is Moon Knight with Oscar Isaac who lends his features to Marc Spector, a man who lives with dissociative identity disorder and therefore several personalities in his head. He is also the avatar of the Egyptian god Khonshu.

The series ended with Marc Spector breaking free from Khonshu, defeating the villainous Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke). At the same time, he sees his wife Layla (May Calamawy) become Scarlet Scarab. Even though most of the season focused on Marc Spector and Steven Grant (his alter ego), the post-credits scene revealed that the brutal Jake Lockley – Marc Spector’s hidden third identity – still serves Khonshu.

Following this cliffhanger, many fans wondered when the confirmation of a season 2 would come, but as with other Disney+ series, Marvel Studios was reluctant to confirm the renewal. Although so far only Loki has been confirmed for a new season, Moon Knight’s team has clearly hinted at a renewal.

A TikTok user has shared a video with Mohamed Diab – the director of Moon Knight – and Oscar Isaac in which they half-announce the long-awaited season 2. Video then shared on Twitter by the director:

The tiktoker: “The question everyone is asking: is there a season 2?
Mohammad Diab:Of Moon Knight?
Oscar Issac: “Why else would we be in Cairo?

When is Moon Knight season 2 coming out?

It is unclear what the intention behind this video is. Oscar Isaac and Mohamed Diab confirm that season 2 is in preparation? Or are they campaigning with Marvel and Disney for a renewal? Their presence in Cairo suggests that they are not there simply to spend the holidays…

With Disney’s D23 taking place next month, it’s possible a small crew will have traveled to Egypt to film a short video to announce what’s next next month. Marvel Studios is expected to make several announcements at the event and there’s still room to finalize Phase 6.

If that were to be the case and Moon Knight Season 2 released during The Multiverse Saga, it would likely premiere in 2025 during Phase 6, as the Phases 4 and 5 slates appear to be complete. It may seem like a long time, but maybe Marc Spector will show up somewhere else, before Season 2.

Moon Knight will most likely return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, though its first season lacked any direct MCU connections.

Moon Knight is available on Disney+.
