Marvel: what are the release dates for the MCU phase 5 films?

Since 2008 and the very first Iron Manthe Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU for short) punctuates the cinema release calendar with its popular superheroic adventures.

After phase 1 (2008-2012), phase 2 (2013-2015), phase 3 (2016-2019) and phase 4 (2019-2022), here we are today in the heart of the fifth phase of the MCU, which should take us to 2025.

Without further ado, here is the MCU Phase 5 film schedule. The schedule of upcoming Marvel series on Disney+ can be consulted in our dedicated article.

This calendar is subject to change and will be updated regularly. Dates apply to French releases, unless otherwise stated.

And after phase 5?

If Phase 6 of the MCU is still far away, that hasn’t stopped Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige from placing a handful of films on its calendar. Here are the projects for which we already know the release dates:

  • Fantastic Four – April 30, 2025
  • Avengers: The Kang Dynasty – April 29, 2026
  • Avengers: Secret Wars – May 5, 2027

Almost all of the MCU films are available on the Disney+ streaming platform, with the exception of the most recent ones.

Not all release dates listed below have been confirmed by Disney. They were estimated taking into account the current French media chronology.

  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – October 13, 2023
  • Thor: Love and Thunder – December 2023
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – April 2024
  • Black Widow – July 2024
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – September 2024
  • The Eternals – November 2024
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home – December 2024

The distribution of cinema films on streaming platforms is governed in France by media chronology. Each broadcast mode thus has a dedicated operating window. Here is the current media timeline:

  • DVD, Blu-ray, VoD: 4 months (3 months if the film has had fewer than 100,000 admissions)
  • Canal+, OCS: 6 months after the cinema release (instead of 8 months)

  • Netflix: 15 months after cinema release (instead of 36 months)

  • Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+…: 17 months after cinema release (instead of 36 months)
  • TF1, M6, France Télévisions, Arte: 22 months after cinema release and broadcast exclusivity for up to 36 months
