The finale of the Marvel film “Eternals” not only left many fans with mixed feelings – but also a huge petrified head in the ocean. This belongs to the Celestial Tiamut, whose birth from inside the earth could only be prevented by the “Eternals” with combined forces at the last second.
But why is the end of “Eternals” like the previously mentioned big stone in the stomach for some fans after further films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) like “Doctor Strange 2”?
The legacy of the “Eternals”: A big logic hole?
It’s simple: Since the action of “Eternals” takes place before the events of the sequel films, other Marvel heroes like Dr. Strange must have noticed the existence of such a divine stillbirth in marble. However, since Tiamut, who remains petrified in the ocean, is not addressed, the community’s canon police are currently reacting with displeasure.
Whether there will be any enlightenment in forthcoming Phase 4 Marvel films is hard to say so far – and a good question. Whether Natalie Portman in “Thor: Love and Thunder” finds the time to deal with the legacies of the Eternals in the middle of the ocean between chemotherapy and unusual superpowers can at least be mildly doubted.
