Marvel: will the X-Men change their name and be integrated into the MCU?

Persistent rumors are swirling around San Diego Comic Con right now. A film called The Mutants is about to be formalized by Marvel. The latter would fit into the MCU.

San Diego Comic Con is in full swing right now and will continue to delight pop culture fans all weekend long!

According DeadlineMarvel could reveal its plans for a feature film project featuring the X-Men.

If fans are mainly waiting for the first images of Black Panther 2 and announcements concerning the future of the MCU, persistent rumors evoke the start of a film called The Mutants.

Indeed, the House of Ideas would like to dust off the image of the X-Men by renaming them, in order to make a new start.

The last X-Men film in cinemas, Dark Phoenix, disappointed many fans and did not have the expected success. A total overhaul is therefore envisaged on the side of Marvel.

Victoria Alonso, executive vice president of Marvel production, said some time after Disney acquired Fox: “It’s funny that people call them the X-Men. There are a lot of superheroes in this X-Men team, so I think that name is outdated”.

It would therefore not be surprising that these “Mutants” point the tip of their noses during Comic Con. How will they be integrated into the MCU? For the moment, no information has filtered on this subject.

Big M has already started setting up the X-Men with Charles Xavier’s appearance in Doctor Strange 2 and through the Miss Marvel series finale, as we told you about in this article.

In addition, other rumors announce a new Wolverine in the person of Taron Egerton. Will they be confirmed during San Diego Comic Con? We will know very soon! Otherwise, you will surely have to wait for D23, a huge Disney event to be held from September 9 to 11, 2022.
