Marvel’s Iron Man VR: You will be free from thread and loading screens on Meta Quest 2

Launched in 2020 on PSVR first of the name, the excellent Marvel’s Iron Man VR suffered in places from a few small flaws. With the upcoming release of Meta Quest 2 version, it seems that the developers of the studio camouflage (bought for the occasion) were able to realize their true vision of the game.

You can probably imagine it from the sight of the visuals, this title invites us to put on the armor ofIron Man and put ourselves in the shoes of Tony Stark. Ryan Payton, Founder of camouflageraves about the game:

My team really tried to outdo themselves. Not only did we release a very important game for the Meta platform, but we were also able to deliver some pretty awesome visuals. Finally, the dynamics of the game have no other equivalence at present. Let’s say we did it in a way that couldn’t build on the core strengths of the platform we were on at the time.

The gaming experience is therefore sublimated on Meta Quest 2. We not only offer a freer experience, but also devoid of all the defects inherent in the PlayStation VR version.

At the time, we wished we could have done more when it came to load times on PSVR and, believe me, it wasn’t due to a lack of effort. For the Meta Quest 2 version, we discussed whether or not a loading screen was required for certain missions. And then the game is so fast on it that we don’t even have to show the player that the game is loading.

I feel like players are going to be able to experience the very essence of what we were looking to create from the start. It’s about realizing the ultimate superhero fantasy by pairing Iron Man with VR.

We will have much shorter loading times on Meta Quest 2which spoiled for many the experience of the players PSVR. The cause of this length is of course the use of the PS4 hard drive, which is much slower than an SSD or an eMMC chip., which are not subject to the physical and mechanical rotation speed of the disc and the reading head.

Remember, the PSVR was a wired headset with a single external camera for the trackingrequiring some technical workarounds to play with 360° movements. Without cables, the pleasure is increased tenfold, you can now play without constraints and with a full range of movements without winding up on yourself.

In terms of graphics, we hope that the downgrade won’t be too big. Let’s not forget that the game was released on the PS4 and that it is still more powerful than the chip that equips the Meta Quest 2. Do not be alarmed, however, our application Quest Games Optimizer keeps an eye on the grain and will offer you the best profile(s) for this title.

Marvel’s Iron Man VR will launch on November 3 on Meta Quest 2. If you are still interested in this helmet, know that you can always afford it at the Fnac, Darty or Amazon for €449.99.
