  • Developers have expanded the area beyond Manhattan.
  • The designers are said to have encountered copyright obstacles when depicting buildings.
  • For many buildings, attention was paid to a meticulous representation.

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the well-known hero continues his journey in an expanded New York landscape. This now extends beyond Manhattan to Brooklyn and Queens.

But as GamingBolt explains based on a paid report from the New York Times, with this expansion came new design challenges. Although the precise recreation of the city shows the designers’ skills, some famous buildings are also missing.

An example of this is the lack of the Chrysler Building in the new game due to copyright issues. In order to be able to display these buildings, Sony needs the consent of the owners, even if the house can already be seen in the 2018 game.

If you’re looking forward to a trip through New York as Spider-Man, you should create enough storage space on your console. The game will be released on October 20th for PS5.
