When Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 confuses the Cuban flag with the Puerto Rican one

In Insomniac Games’ defense, the flags of Cuba and Puerto Rico look very similar. They feature the same patterns: a star nestled in a triangle on the left, and five stripes on the right.

But the colors differ :

  • The triangle is red and three of the five stripes are blue for Cuba;
  • The triangle is blue and three of the five stripes are red for Puerto Rico.

There was therefore an inversion of the colors, an approximation which does not concern a Miles Morales costume with the effigy of Puerto Rico (the color scheme is the correct one) – as Danny Pena notes in a tweet published on October 22. Some Insomniac Games employees are therefore better than others at geography.

Obviously, no one died, especially since the blunder will be corrected sooner or later.
