Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: update 1.003 is available, an update on its new features

Last week, we learned of the coming of a new update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2adding in particular some extra costumes for both Spidermen. It is therefore, as expected, published this Tuesday and brings into its web some slight new features which have been detailed by Insomniac Games in the changelog of patch 1.003 which you can read in English on the official website. It’s not as massive as in March, but there are still some interesting elements.

Here is what this update brings and changes:

NEWS

Four new collaborative costumes

  • Urban (Miles Morales)
  • Ginga (Miles Morales)
  • Fluro (Peter Parker)
  • Biker Chic (Peter Parker)

Four fan-favorite costumes making a return

  • Into the Spider-Verse / New Generation (Peter Parker)
  • Last Chance (Peter Parker)
  • Neighborhood Pride (Miles Morales)
  • Cartoon (Miles Morales)

Swap parry and move abilities

  • The ability to swap Spider-Arms and Symbiote, and vice versa in response to community feedback. These options are found under GAMEPLAY settings and include:
    • Default: the option remains unchanged from the pre-patch version;
    • Symbiote: Only the Symbiote’s tentacles will be used for parrying and movement abilities;
    • Spider-Arms: Only Spider-Arms will be used for parrying and movement abilities;
    • Costume: Symbiote outfits use parrying and movement abilities based on the latter, others use Spider-Arms.

NEW ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES

  • Funky: Added support for “Look at the marker” for opening the electrical box.
  • Funky: Added an activity skip for the section with the Spider-Bot.
  • Alumni Ball: Added a “Skip Puzzle” option for the puzzle requiring connecting electrical nodes.

NOTABLE ADDITIONS AND FIXES


The following issues have been fixed:

  • Overload did not transform players into Symbiote suits in New Game+;
  • The frequency of finishers in Symbiote was too low or almost non-existent in New Game+;
  • Road signs were not displaying correctly in the open world;
  • Depth of field did not work in Photo mode if it was disabled in the game settings;
  • Users could not launch turbines during the EMF’s Brooklyn Heights mission;
  • The spider logo floated with certain poses on Web’s outfit;
  • Dialogue would not play during the Mister Negative boss fight when tutorials were disabled;
  • An audio/dialogue issue was occurring with the water rifle shooting mini-game;
  • A text problem occurred with the message “End of night”;
  • An issue with inconsistent background colors appearing in the outfit menu;
  • Objects and assets were misplaced in the open world.


Fixed additional stability, bugs and issues throughout the game.
