Marvel’s Wolverine wouldn’t finally arrive before 2025 and that’s no surprise

According to information from leaker Daniel Richtman, Insomniac Games plans to release Marvel’s Wolwerine in 2025. The studio’s next game would therefore still be in the heart of its development, which is not surprising given the date at hand. which it was announced. So you have all the time in the world to go platinum on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, one of the competitors for the GOTY title, has only just been released, some are already looking towards the next big project from Insomniac Games. Announced in 2021 via a relatively shy teaser, the game has been very discreet since. It must be said that with the parallel development of the second part of the adventures of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, Insomniac had other fish to fry. However, several sources have started to dream of a 2024 release for Wolverine.

As early as February, some announced a launch for next year. If the deadline already seemed relatively short, the information was “confirmed” several times, as recently as last week. But today, another source is more reasonable. Daniel Richtman, renowned leaker in the video game sphere, states on his Patreon page that the Wolverine game should instead be released in 2025. Which seems much more plausible to us.

Why it makes sense that Marvel’s Wolverine would be released in 2025

Of course, postponements are particularly common in the video game industry – if not a mandatory step. It’s entirely possible that Insomniac Games and Sony initially planned a 2024 release for Wolverine, if only to ride the wave of Spider-Man 2. However, despite the studio having over 500 employees, which allows him to work on several projects simultaneously, the exit window seemed particularly short.

Indeed, since the title was announced in 2021, we can reasonably estimate that development began one, or even two years ago. In other words, a release in 2025 would correspond to 5 or 6 years of development, which is now a standard cycle for a AAA game. Especially since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will most certainly be entitled to one (several?) DLC, which will prevent Insomniac from concentrating its forces on Wolverine for a certain time. Conclusion: patience is still required.
