Ex-boxing world champion Marvin Hagler is dead. He died unexpectedly in his home in New Hampshire, as his wife announced.

Former boxing world champion Marvin Hagler ("Two fists for Miami") passed away at the age of 66. This was announced by his wife Kay, with whom the athlete had been married since 2000. You regret having to share "very sad news", said the deceased's wife on Facebook.

"One of the greatest to have ever walked the ring!"

"Unfortunately, today my beloved husband Marvelous Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home here in New Hampshire," said the widow. The cause of death is unknown. The former professional boxer, who became known as Marvelous Marvin Hagler, was the undefeated world middleweight champion between 1980 and 1987. Among other things, his fight against Thomas Hearns (62) in 1985 is legendary.

Numerous fans and colleagues said goodbye to Hagler on social media. Professional boxer Oscar De La Hoya (48) explained about on Twitter: "Sad to hear of the death of Marvelous Marvin Hagler. One of the greatest to ever walk the ring!"
