Mary Higgins Clark: The bestselling author died at the age of 92

Best-selling author Mary Higgins Clark died at the age of 92. The publishing house Simon & Schuster confirmed the writer's death via Twitter, Accordingly, the thriller author died "surrounded by family and friends". Clark has five children.

She wrote over 50 books

Clark's career as an author spanned decades. Her best-known works include the thriller "Sister, come dance with me", "Grace period" or "Winter storm". Some of her novels have been made into films. According to her publisher, Clark has written a total of 56 books, including 38 crime novels, a historical novel and two children's books.

"Nobody felt more connected to their readers than Mary," says a statement from the publisher. For Clark, these were like members of her own family. "She was always absolutely sure what she wanted to read – and, perhaps more importantly, what she didn't want to read – and yet she managed to surprise her with each of her books."
