Tennis champion Mary Pierce January 15th blows out its 47 candles. Very discreet since 2006 when she retired as a professional player, she opened up a few months ago about her romantic situation. Last June, in an interview with Outlook India and picked up by Closer, she explained that she had not yet met her prince charming: “I haven’t found the man.”
In this exchange, the Franco-American returned to her desire for motherhood, not yet satisfied : “I always thought that at 30 I would retire, get married and have children.” But Mary Pierce continued her successful career (she won 18 singles titles) longer than originally planned: “But obviously that didn’t happen because at 30 I was still playing.”
Seduced by adoption
From now on based in Mauritius, Mary Pierce remains committed to the idea of starting a family and is considering adoption:“If I couldn’t have kids, I’d probably adopt too.” But the last Frenchwoman to have won the French Open, in 2000, intends to be supported by the future man of her life to become a mother :“You have to find the guy first.”
