Mask in chicken nuggets: child almost suffocated

All children like chicken nuggets. But now a girl almost choked on it – because there was a blue mask in the nugget.

They are everywhere – on the rear view mirror, in empty shopping carts and our handbag. The small, blue masks have become a symbol of the corona crisis. But now a mother found mouth-nose protection in a place she definitely doesn't belong: in a chicken nugget.

On August 4th, 32-year-old Laura Arber from Aldershot in England decided to make her children happy. She brought home McDonalds chicken nuggets. But when her 6-year-old daughter was about to eat one, she suddenly began to choke. Her mother reacted immediately and wanted to save the girl from suffocation. But when she put her finger in her mouth to get the chicken nugget out, she got her hands on something completely different: a blue face mask.

"It was just blue. I thought what on earth is this ?! I didn't even think it could be a nugget. But when I looked into the box with the other nuggets, I saw that it came from one Other Nugget blue scraps stood out, "the mother tells Hampshire Live magazine. When she examined the chicken nuggets after the first shock, she realized what was hidden in them: "The mask was baked in as if it were part of the mix – and it was definitely a mask."

At the latest after this discovery, the family had finally lost its appetite. Laura brought the chicken nuggets back to the McDonald's store. But there it was turned down with the explanation that the nuggets would not be made on site.

When asked by RTL, McDonald's Germany said: "We have already initiated extensive investigations at the respective supplier and have taken measures to ensure that these products are removed from our restaurants. We would like to sincerely apologize to the customer for this."

Laura Arber would like to warn other customers anyway. She spreads her story in a Facebook group from Aldershot. The mother's shock is still deep: "What if I had left the room and my daughter had suffocated? She could have died."
