From Friday April 1, TF1 draws (finally) the third season of Mask Singer. Télé Star gives you an overview of all the new features of this edition.
This is a highly anticipated season. Almost a year and a half after the second season, TF1 finally draws the third edition of Mask Singer. However, this one was shot last July. A first trailer had even been unveiled in November 2021, making the mouths of fans of this entertainment water. Yes Mask Singer took so long to be on the air it’s because of the health crisis. “There was particular uncertainty about Dancing with the Stars“, explains Rémi Faure, the program director of TF1. Above all, the start of the school year was busy for the front page which – in addition to the great return of DALS after two years of absence – celebrated the 20th anniversary of Koh Lantathe 10 years of The Voicethree evening events around the star Academy, the NRJ Music Awards and the Miss France. A busy schedule in less than four months. No question therefore of not live up to viewer expectations. The chain promises that they will be surprised with each episode. Mask Singer 3: the release date
After a long wait, fans of Mask Singer will finally be able to find this spectacular show. It is from Friday April 1 that TF1 will offer this third edition. The fundamentals remain the same: several masked and fully disguised celebrities compete in song in front of an audience and a jury of investigators. This one – still made up of Kev Adams, Alessandra Sublet, Jarry and Anggun – which sits underneath the suit, aided by broadcast cues and the personality’s voice as she sings. As usual, it is Camille Combal – whose valves fuse – who is at the helm.
Mask Singer 3: The international stars
In season 2, Mask Singer had created the event by announcing to its cast an international star. This is Itziar Ituño, aka Lisbon in Money Heist who had then slipped into the Ballerina’s costume for the time of a number. This season, it won’t be not one but two international stars who will compete for one episode each. “And here are the international stars. People who speak English!“, enthuses Camille Combal during the press presentation. The investigators will then have only one magneto clues and a single service to discover the identity of these celebrities known throughout the world. Like the Ladybug came with… her Golden Globes! Class.
Mask Singer 3: Guest Investigators
Guests will lend themselves to the guessing game, the time of a number. Under a huge mask, a personality will deliver an exceptional performance. Investigators will have a few minutes to try to uncover the identity of the personality, before it unmasks. Once she reveals her true self, she will join Alessandra Sublet, Kev Adams, Anggun and Jarry as a guest-investigator to play with them and try to find out who the name of the participants is. “So there will be a lot more than twelve characters throughout the season“, rejoices Anthony Meunier, general manager of Hervé Hubert Productions which produces Mask Singer.
Mask Singer 3: Evolutionary costumes
“Costume sliders like surprises pushed even further“, promises Anthony Meunier who hopes to surprise with the disguises of this third season. Some will be embellished with LEDs. Others will be downright scalable. Thereby, “in each episode, the costume will arrive with a different look“, he explains. This is the case, for example, of the Tree that will go through all the seasons, over the episodes. This one even has “animated eyes that react“within its trunk.”We tried to create happenings in costumes – in particular the Banana and the Pig. It gives them something to have fun on stage to put on a show and at the same time, it allows them to tell a story with the songs and to offer even prettier paintings.“, details the producer.
Mask Singer 3: Still more clues
Mask Singer“it is above all a great investigation“, recalls Camille Combal. To put more focus on it and to allow us to approach the investigation differently, production booked”full new stimuli“. “We will have a new way of investigating, with for example clues in the staging, on the costumes, on set… We will also have clues on the passports of celebrities“, adds Anthony Meunier. As well as on the potential links they have with the investigators. Something to surprise Alessandra Sublet, Anggun, Jary and Kev Adams. And no doubt also to confuse the tracks somewhat with each other. Another novelty: for the first time, they will be able to come down from their desks to join the set and ask the costumed personality to say a word they have chosen with their real voice. “Pretty soon they left on unconstitutionally so they could hear as best they could“, laughs Rémi Faure. Mask Singer 3: And the shrewdest investigator is…
For the first time, one of the investigators or Camille Combal will win a trophy at the end of the season, The golden ear. At the end of the very first performance of the characters, Jarry, Anggun, Kev Adams, Alessandra Sublet and the host of Mask Singer will have to put the first intuition they have in an envelope. Envelopes that will be opened at the time of the reveal. It is therefore a question of rewarding the one who had the best initial intuition, who is not necessarily the best investigator for all that. “Camille had two-three nice winning shots. He has a good feeling“, estimates the director of programs of TF1. Who is therefore the most insightful of the five? We will have to wait for the final to find out. In the meantime, Camille Combal salutes the work of Kev Adams who hates to lose. “He could live badly losing to Connect 4“, he lets go in a burst of laughter. So inevitably, Kev Adams gives his all, scribbling clues and guesses in his notebook. “He’s WhatsApping me saying ‘Do you think it could be something?’ He is conducting a real investigation. I really think he takes private investigators and uses some pretty weird stuff, but he’s really into the game. He’s very studious. He is the one who invests the most“, assures Camille Combal.
Mask Singer 3: What about a season 4?
If the third edition of Mask Singer has not yet aired, the production and channel are already working on its fourth season. “We will not be long in turning it“, announced Rémi Faure. They will still have to face a major difficulty: find a replacement Jarry – who left for France 2. A departure that encouraged the channel to “renew part of the investigators“.”It’s in progress. We discuss, we meet“, confirms the program director of the front page. With the objective of “form the best quartet possible“. It must be said that this one sparked, as their complicity is palpable. “We thought we had a rather rare alchemy on this program. It’s an energy, a complicity that we don’t often see“, he rejoices. TF1 is therefore not necessarily looking for names but a feeling with the other members of the jury. And also someone with repartee. “It’s not easy to follow the pace when there’s a Kev on one side, a Camille on the other, the clues,… it’s flying in all directions“, explains Rémi Faure.
