Mask Singer: the exorbitant price of the costumes revealed!

It’s a small change that aficionados of Mask Singer have certainly noted in their diaries. From this week, the successful TF1 show will no longer be broadcast on Friday, but on Saturday evening, due to Euro football. The sixth season has been in full swing since May 3 and viewers are not at the end of their surprises. Since the launch of the 2024 edition, the quartet of investigators – Kev Adams, Chantal Ladesou, Inès Reg and Laurent Ruquier – have already unmasked numerous personalities. The choice of celebrities, we guess, contributes greatly to the fact that this program is so popular. But that’s not all: the extremely sophisticated costumes also play a role.

In an article published Thursday June 13 and devoted to the subject, Ciné Télé Revue informs us that the amount of each of the costumes varies between 25,000 and 32,000 euros. A slogan has been set: this cost must not exceed 42,000 euros. A (very) tidy sum which allows us to offer, after several hundred hours of work (up to a thousand hours for the Camel costume last year, under which Nico Capone and his companion were hiding), creations very accomplished that several foreign versions of the TF1 show envy. The stars have their say, since around thirty suggestions are generally submitted to them, specify our colleagues. This year, the team of Mask Singer notably called on fashion designer Charlie Le Mindu, known throughout the world for his hair creations, to bring certain outfits to life.

So a whole set of logistics must be put in place. In the heart of autumn 2019, already, The Parisian estimated that the costumes cost “from 20,000 to 45,000 euros each”. A colossal budget which allows viewers to escape from their daily lives for a few evenings…
