Mask Singer: why Elie Semoun, “annoyed that we are offering him”, refused

Invited on March 31, 2022 in Buzz TV, the Figaro Live program, Elie Semoun was adamant about a possible participation in television programs.

Elie Semoun recently appeared alongside Corinne Masiero for a unreleased episode from the tv series Captain Marleau. Shortly before the broadcast of this episode, the 58-year-old comedian was the guest of the Buzz-TVthe issuance of Figaro Livewhere he was asked about this new role, but also about his future plans.

During his visit, a surfer asked him if he would agree to participate to Mask Singer, whose third season is currently airing. Elie Semoun was categorical after this question. “I was offered, but no. My fantasy is not TV, it’s the stage, the cinema, but it’s really not TV” he first explained.

Elie Semoun: “It’s not my place”.

If Elie Semoun explained that he refused to do Mask Singerhe also revealed that he was invited to participate in other programs as Dance with the stars. “I was even a little annoyed that I was offered it. I don’t know… This is not my place” he said, quite amused by the situation.

Finally, the interpreter of Gustave Latouche in Ducobu found the reasons of his many refusals. “It’s not an aversion, but TV is very ephemeral. I like to do timeless things. TV I find that it goes too fast, it goes by too fast” he explained before continuing: “I want to mark my presence as an artist and not just as a little butterfly flying in front of a small TV screen“.

Finally, the artist who is currently preparing “a big project” with Franck Dubosc said he was very open to play in seriesbut much less to become a host or permanent guest on shows.
