Massacre of Sharon Tate: this abject detail on the murder of the ex-pregnant wife of Roman Polanski

Tuesday August 9 marked the anniversary of the death of Sharon Tate, ex-wife of director Roman Polanski. She was found dead in her villa when she was 8 months pregnant. Back to this murder which sadly marked the history of the United States, and to this bloody detail.

August 9, 1969 still resonates, 53 years later, as a tragic and surreal day. On this specific date, the ex-wife of director Roman Polanski, actress Sharon Tate, was 8 months pregnant. This was in their villa at 10050 Cielo Drive, in the United States. Roman Polanski was in London for the preparation of a shoot.

At that time, the guru and serial killer Charles Manson was on the loose, and sent a group of fanatics to seek revenge at the villa of Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate. He asked the performers to avenge him on Terry Melcher, former venue owner and music producer Terry Melcher, who refused to sign him. The group’s mission was to assassinate him, without knowing that the latter had in fact recently moved.

A bloody detail discovered after the murder of Sharon Tate

The group of fanatics then entered the villa, and killed all its occupants. These included producer Wojciech Frykowski and his fiancée Abigail Folger who were in the garden, as well as celebrity hairstylist Jay Sebring and Sharon Tate, stabbed 16 times while 8 months pregnant with a baby boy that she wanted to call Paul. The latter were in the living room, and were found with white masks.

But a bloody detail has more than anything made people talk, and marked this tragedy. Using a towel soaked in the blood of the late actress, the group of fanatics registered “Pig”on the door of the villa from the director and Sharon Tate. This final detail was the coup de grace and finished wrecking the life of Roman Polanski, then a widower and childless.

53 years later, this story shocks again and again, and reminds us of the beautiful Sharon Tate, pregnant, victim of a terrible injustice.
