Massive Attack cancels its tour due to the health problems of one of its musicians

The British trip-hop group was to perform in Europe and was expected in France for several dates, including the We Love Green festival, scheduled for June 2-5, 2022.

Massive Attack, leading group of trip-hop, cancels its international tour from May to July inclusive due to a health problem of one of its members, can we read Thursday on its social networks. “During the last few months, a member (of the group) has faced a serious illness (…) he is recovering”indicates the British formation without further details.

The formation was to occur in Europe, in particular for several dates in France. They were expected in Lille on May 31, in Rennes on June 6 and in Clermont-Ferrand on June 8. Massive Attack was also the headliner of the Paris region festival We Love Green, scheduled for June 2 to 5, 2022. The sound wizards of Bristol were initially scheduled for 2021, for the tenth anniversary of this event. But this edition had been canceled due to the health context, as in 2020.

We Love Green is an environmentally conscious festival and Massive Attack’s programming was not insignificant. The group is campaigning for the music industry to reduce its carbon footprint around live performances and tours. The leader of the formation, Robert Del Naja, alias 3D, even participated in an exchange on this theme at the UN climate conference last year.
