Masters 1000 in Rome: Mixed results for the French in Rome

Five French people were in the running this Thursday for the round of 64 of the Masters 1000 in Rome. Two of them won, starting with Corentin Moutet (N.83), who defeated the Russian Roman Safiullin (3-6, 7-6, 6-2). The other victor is Alexandre Müller (N.109), who defeated the Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (4-6, 7-6, 7-6). On the other hand, Arthur Rinderknech (N.73) lost to the Italian Francesco Passaro (7-6, 5-7, 6-7), just like Grégoire Barrère (N.115) against the Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild (4-6, 2-6). Finally, Harold Mayot (N.130) started well but ended up losing against the Italian Matteo Arnaldi (6-3, 5-7, 4-6). For his part, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal beat the Belgian Zizou Bergs (4-6, 6-3, 6-4).
