Masturbate before sleeping to enjoy the sedative effect of orgasm

Alone or accompanied, the sexual act secretes hormones born to relax you and fall asleep. A godsend for those who have trouble falling asleep.

This is a recent study of the brand of sex toys Funn Woman which has brought up to date what caregivers have been analyzing for a long time. The sedative effect of orgasms is believed to be approved by 95% of people surveyed during the study. The latter believe they sleep better after having climaxed. But how can this phenomenon be explained scientifically?

According to physician and author Jeff Foster, interviewed by GLAMOR, this reaction is linked to the hormones we secrete during sexual activity and their effects on our body. “The effect of masturbation and intercourse are the same, the only difference is the presence of other people in the second case. From a scientific point of view, your brain does not care if you have sexual activity alone or with others before sleeping. “ The benefits produced by hormones linked to sex are therefore the same since their goal is common: to have an orgasm.

How Does Masturbation Help You Sleep Better?

“The sexual activity that results in an orgasm generates many hormones like dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin and prolactin” the doctor continues. “These hormones have an effect on our mood. More often than not, they promote a feeling of relaxation, a clearer mind and satisfaction.”

But that’s not all. “Sexual activity can also have a sedative effect”, which is why we doze off after an orgasm. “It’s natural. This sedative effect is supposed to allow the body to recover after the physical exertion of intercourse or masturbation” underlines Dr Foster.

The hormones generated like dopamine and oxytocin, known as the “love hormones” also have the role of associating the sexual act with the pleasure – and thus pushing you to repeat the experience again and again.

No specific method of masturbation is recommended for better sleep. It doesn’t matter whether you use a sex toy or use your hands, because the chemical reaction depends only on the orgasm, not on the process. Your sexual preferences, favorite practices or the presence of one or more partners therefore have no impact either. And the doctor concludes: “These are individual choices and preferences which have no influence on the physiological process of intercourse.”

You finally know how to have a good night’s sleep!
