Once again, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are working on a movie together. This time even in its unprecedented constellation.

Matt Damon (51) and Ben Affleck (49) are currently working together in a constellation that has never existed before. As reported by the US industry website “The Hollywood Reporter”., the duo is filming the true story of former Nike manager Sonny Vaccaro (82) in cooperation with Amazon Studios. Damon and Affleck will co-write, star and produce the film. What’s new is that, for the first time, Affleck is also directing a film with his buddy.

According to the report, Damon will play the main character Vaccaro, while Affleck will play Nike co-founder Phil Knight (84). The plot of the film takes place in the 80s and tells of the company’s coup to win superstar Michael Jordan (59) as an advertising character.

Oscar success 25 years ago

It’s been around 25 years since Damon and Affleck won the Oscar for “Best Original Screenplay” thanks to their film “Good Will Hunting” in 1998 and Robin Williams (1951-2014) also received a golden boy for supporting actor. However, the drama was not directed by Affleck, but by Gus Van Sant (69).

Just last year, the dream team teamed up again for a joint script. Together with Nicole Holofcener (62), they wrote the script for the historical drama “The Last Duel”, based on the novel of the same name. Both also worked in front of the camera, with Sir Ridley Scott (84) taking the director’s chair.
