“WandaVision” director Matt Shakman is making the next “Star Trek” film. It is his first major cinema production.

Surprising promotion for the big screen for Matt Shakman (45): He will direct the next “Star Trek” film. That reports “Deadline”. So far, Shakman has drawn attention to himself with series.

The native Californian shot episodes for some of the best series in recent years. He staged episodes for, among others, “Dr. House”, “Game of Thrones” and “Mad Men”. He shot six episodes for “The Good Wife”.

Fame through “WandaVision”

The “Star Trek” makers caught the attention of Shakman with “WandaVision”. For the series from the Marvel Universe, which premiered on Disney +, the 45-year-old shot all nine episodes. The mix of sitcom and science fiction recently won several Emmy nominations, including for Shakman as the best director of a miniseries.

The fourth part of the “Star Trek” reboot

The as yet untitled new “Star Trek” film that Shakman will direct is the fourth part of the cinema reboot, which from 2009 shows, among others, Chris Pine (40) as the young Captain Kirk.
