Matthew McConaughey: US star puts out 110,000 protective masks

Actor and Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey (50, "Dallas Buyers Club") together with his wife Camila Alves (38) made an important contribution to the fight against the Corona pandemic. The US star and Brazilian model traveled through McConaughey's home state of Texas in a fully loaded pick-up truck to distribute a total of 110,000 donated protective masks to "rural hospitals in need". The actor wrote this on a photo on Instagram that shows him and his loved one with a protective mask and a lot of zest for action.

Repeat Samaritan

It is not the first time that McConaughey has set a good example during the Corona crisis. Already in April, together with Alves, he drove 80,000 protective masks to hospital staff. Another day, he also held a video bingo evening for a Texas nursing home.

But it wasn't Corona that motivated the actor to do good. He has repeatedly stood out in the past with heartwarming actions. For example, last year when he prepared and delivered meals for those affected and first responders to the forest fires in California. And also for "Meals on Wheels" ("Food on Wheels") the 50-year-old was already working in 2019 to bring food to the needy.
