On the floor of the Airbus A330-300, food, crockery and textiles that were previously thrown through the air are scattered. Captioning the disturbing video, which Camila Alves filmed herself and then uploaded to her Instagram account, she wrote: “On the flight last night I was told the plane fell almost 4000ft, 7 people were hospitalized and everything flew everywhere. […] The plane was a CHAOS and the turbulence kept coming. The @lufthansa flight you see on the news today!!!! Yes… he.” Fortunately, everything was “safe and ok”, the model explained with relief.

The flight had to be diverted due to the turbulence and landed at Dulles International Airport in a Washington suburb, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority told NBC News. There, in a hotel, McConaughey’s wife then spent the night. On Instagram, she thanked the hotel chain and Karin Lacy, who helped her organize a replacement flight.

Was Matthew McConaughey also on board?

According to Lufthansa, brief but severe turbulence occurred about 90 minutes after flight 469 took off, reported the US television station “NBC News”. According to the FAA, the plane was at an altitude of about 37,000 feet over Tennessee. A flight attendant hit the ceiling during one of those crashes “and fell down, lying completely horizontal,” said one passenger.

Matthew McConaughey is said to have been on board as well. However, his wife didn’t mention the actor in her post. One thing is certain: Despite the violent turbulence, there were no serious injuries. The FAA will now review the case, the statement said to NBC News.
