Matthias Schweighöfer: Corona crisis is an "incredibly difficult situation"

Matthias Schweighöfer publishes a new music video. He finds "that there are currently no concerts because of Corona" extremely sad ".

Matthias Schweighöfer (39) is back with new music. It's been three years since his debut album "Laugh, Cry, Dance". In April and June Schweighöfer released a foretaste of the new longplayer, the singles "Zeit" and "Lauf". Today, Friday (July 3rd), the associated music video for his latest song follows.

Schweighöfer desperately tries to get rid of his CDs and promo articles in the video. He also presents his new single enthusiastically on a large stage – however, as is customary in the Corona crisis, only in front of a very small audience. "Of course, I'm just taking it on my own, because generally I find it extremely sad and an incredibly difficult situation for all artists, organizers and all the great people in front of and behind the scenes who can't work at the moment," says the artist in an interview with the news agency spot on news.

Matthias Schweighöfer hopes for tour 2021

"We are planning our tour for 2021 and are really looking forward to it. Let us keep our fingers crossed that it will be possible again," the 39-year-old continues. "Lauf" is a very hopeful song. Schweighöfer also describes himself as an "optimistic person". "With all the problems and difficult moments in life, you can also fight for your luck and that of your loved ones," he says.

His new album, which is due for release later this year, will be titled "Hobby". Schweighöfer's favorite pastimes are "actually music and sports," he says. "And I prefer to run here. But I also like to cook."
