Matze Knop: The entertainer cooks so healthy

Matze Knop (45) proves that a balanced and healthy diet is possible and above all important despite a full-time job. So the comedian and moderator took on the challenge of bringing out an entire cookbook, enriched with its typical charm and wit, of course. When he wrote "Cooking with Two Left Hands" (Grafe and Unzer), he "not only had fun" but also learned a lot. "It was very funny to write down my childhood recipes and then cook for the first time myself," Knop told the interview with the news agency spot on news.

"My mother inspired me a lot"

Anyone who works full-time must be aware of "what is healthy and what is unhealthy". When shopping, you should also make sure to take the right products with you. Knop himself relies on "cheese from the fresh counter" and above all on "water from the glass bottle".

The comedian finds inspiration in the kitchen from his mother Erika. "Of course she inspired me a lot. That's why my mother has an important role in the cookbook. She is the expert and I only the junior chef."

Knops insider tip: fried chicken spice

For the 45-year-old, vegetables should be on the daily plate. Knop also has an insider tip for the preparation: "I swear on fried chicken spice. It also tastes like chicken nuggets. But joking aside, it's really a great tip."

But some dishes are also a challenge for him. "A Christmas goose is not easy. Experts have to go there. That's why I wrote a book for beginners," explains the comedian.

Small sins are allowed

In addition to the healthy cuisine, Knop also occasionally approves a calorie bomb. "I love desserts, tiramisu, crema catalana, mousse au chocolat. Everything is actually allowed as long as you consume it in moderation." The comedian's absolute favorite food: "Delicious potato dumplings filled with plums and apricots. Simply brilliant and easy to make."
