Maurel & Prom: the resumption of production on Ezanga could take place in the coming days – 05/02/2022 at 08:44

(AOF) – Following an incident that occurred on Thursday April 28 on the facilities of the Cap Lopez oil terminal operated by Perenco, and the suspension of its reception and export activities, Maurel & Prom had to gradually reduce its production on Gabon’s Ezanga permit (currently up to 4,000 bopd at 100%). The terminal operator is currently working on restarting its facilities. The resumption of production on Ezanga towards its normal level could thus take place in the coming days.

Alternative export solutions are also already being examined, in order to speed up the return to normal production of Ezanga if necessary.

Pressure on the oil majors to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050

About twenty institutional investors, such as Allianz or the Caisse des dépôts, have defined a climate reporting standard to assess the ability of oil and gas majors to achieve carbon neutrality objectives by 2050. These institutional investors are members of the Groupe d Investors on Climate Change (IIGCC). Companies must commit and report on their performance on a range of indicators, such as capital expenditure or governance. The implementation of these requirements will be tested with several oil and gas companies such as BP, Eni, Repsol, Shell or Total to then apply to other companies in the sector.
