In the final episode of season 2, broadcast tonight at 9:10 p.m. on France 3, Max and his father witness an altercation between a speaker, Brother Stanislav, and Isaak, Jonas Korngold’s brother, during a conference in the Historical Society.
Isaak accuses the monk of being a dangerous fanatic and of encouraging anti-Semitic acts with his words. A few days later, the monk was found beaten to death in the sacristy of his monastery. Could Isaac have gone so far as to kill him? That’s what Max and Oskar will try to find out.

A season 3 already ordered
Next Sunday, Les Carnets de Max Liebermann will give way on France 3 to a new episode of the German series Commissaire Dupin. But don’t panic, the adventures of Max Liebermann will soon return to the screen for a new batch of episodes.
In February, the ORF, ZDF, and BBC Two channels, which broadcast the series in Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom, indeed ordered a season 3 which should again be composed of three 90-minute episodes and will see obviously the main actors get back into the shoes of their characters.
No information has yet filtered on these new surveys or their release period. Because of the Covid, English fans had to wait two years between two seasons, since the first salvo was scheduled on BBC Two in November 2019, while the second only arrived on the air in December 2021.
