Max Payne: Remedy announces the preparation of a remake of the first two episodes on PS5, Xbox Series and PC

It has been almost ten years since the dark history of Max Payne ended with a third opus of very good quality, distributed at the time of the PS3/Xbox 360. A story that began at the very beginning of the 21st century on PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox, which carried the license to the rank of classic TPS and marked a whole generation of players.

And since putting old glories back on the front of the stage is not uncommon, why shouldn’t our tormented hero be entitled to it? This is what the studio behind the saga, RemedyEntertainmentwith the financial support of Rockstar Gameshas decided to prepare through a remake of the first two episodes aimed at the PC and the new generation of consoles.

Max Payne too old? Developers there Remedy

So these are Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne which will be grouped, obviously, in a single title, with a care and a budget to which any other AAA of the studio would be entitled, underlines Remedy in its press release.

The developers will also use their home engine Northlight for this project, which implies a real redesigned version of the original adventures, and not just a graphic work. A probable direction which would be logical insofar as the gameplay, although a pioneer in the use of the famous bullet time, deserves to be reviewed in order to better pass in the future.

A future far from close, moreover, since, following the agreement made today between Remedy and Rockstar, the remake is currently in the design phase. We will therefore have to wait before seeing the first images of Max Payne new look.
