Max Verstappen wins the Saudi Arabian GP

A victory acquired in the last three laps of the race. Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won, on Sunday March 27, in a breathless final, the Saudi Arabian Formula 1 Grand Prix, the second round of the season. The reigning world champion won ahead of Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr (Ferrari).

It’s the 21and career victory for the fiery Dutch driver who is back in third place in the championship after his retirement at the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain. Winner of the inaugural event, Leclerc retains the lead in the standings.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), 15and on the grid after poor qualifying, never seemed comfortable on the narrow track of the Jeddah circuit. The Briton just entered the points, in the 10and final place. Frenchman Esteban Ocon was ranked 6thand of the race, i.e. the position he had obtained on the grid during qualifying.
