Maxima from the eccentric Netherlands: this psychedelic outfit that she assumed wonderfully

This Monday, May 23, on the occasion of the Guillaume 1er prize giving ceremony, Queen Maxima was dressed in a colorful outfit that was reminiscent of the psychedelic atmosphere of the late 1960s.

In the royal families, there are those who prefer a sober and refined style, like Mathilde of Belgium or Letizia of Spain, and then there are the others, who have a taste for risk. This is the case of Maxima, the Queen of the Netherlands, who never misses an opportunity to surprise the public during her official outings. Keen on bright colors and patterns of all kinds, the monarch clearly has a taste for the theatrical which is reflected in her outfits. This Monday, on the occasion of the Guillaume 1er award ceremony, which rewards sustainable companies, Maxima from the Netherlands was no exception to the rule by opting for a long dress signed Mary Katrantzou to say the least… overloaded . The tunic, like a patchwork, seemed to be made up of several pieces of colorful fabric sewn together, and was clearly inspired by the psychedelic motifs in vogue in the 60s and 70s. Faced with the abundance of stripes and colors, Queen Maxima preferred to play it soft on the rest of the outfit, contenting herself with a pair of golden earrings adorned with green stones matching the color of her handbag. hand. On the hair side, the monarch preferred to leave her mane loose. A judicious choice which allows to break a little the austerity of the cut of the dress, very monastic.

Maxima from the Netherlands: she also recycles her outfits

Like her colleagues, Queen Maxima also has a taste for clothing recycling. Thereby, this colorful dress is not his first attemptsince it has already been seen on the monarch during a Christmas gala in 2016, then on King’s Day in 2018. It is therefore a safe bet that it will come out of the closet in a few years!
