Water pollution has occurred in Mittersill due to flooding. The municipality therefore calls on its citizens not to consume the drinking water for the time being or at least to boil it before use.
Mittersill draws water from 22 different springs. Due to the heavy rainfall in the past few days, there may have been contamination in some places. The municipality is asking its citizens not to consume drinking water for the time being or at least to boil it before use. According to Mayor Wolfgang Viertler, the suspicious sources have now been identified. Only on Thursday should there be clarity as to whether the problems have been completely eliminated.
