McDonald’s is launching ultra-fast charging of electric cars in France, with high power and an affordable cost. This is one of the best power/price ratios on the market. Enough to recharge your electric car in around twenty minutes in the parking lot of the famous American fast-food chain.
Very decent charging power
But be careful, this is not just any fast terminal. As specified in the AFP dispatch relayed by the site Knowledge of Energies, Izivia will install fast terminals with a maximum power of 150 kW. So yes, it is not the must, since we find in particular on the highways 350, even 400 kW.
With 150 kW, we can already charge most electric cars from 10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes, or even 20 minutes for certain models such as the Tesla Model Y Propulsion produced in Berlin. A really interesting price

In other words, recharging at 35 cents per kWh allows you to travel 100 km for less than 5 euros. It is therefore generally half the price of a full tank of diesel. For payment, you can rely on a bank card terminal, a recharge badge reader or a QR code for payment from a smartphone.
A deployment that has just started
The deployment of these ultra-fast charging stations in McDonald’s has already started in France, this Tuesday, November 21, with the inauguration of a first station. This is the McDonald’s in Noisy-le-Grand in the Paris suburbs. A strategy already adopted in other European countries by the American giant, such as Italy, the United Kingdom and Sweden.
In France, more than 110,000 charging points are open to the public, with around 10% ultra-fast terminals with 150 kW or more power.
