McPhy Energy: signs contract with HyCC

(CercleFinance.com) – Djewels BV, 100% owned by HyCC, has signed a contract with McPhy for the supply of electrolyzers and Technip Energies for the design and construction of the green hydrogen site project with a capacity of 20 megawatts.

Djewels will be a state-of-the-art electrolysis facility located in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The site will be operated by HyCC and will use McPhy electrolyzers to produce up to 3,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year from renewable energy and water.

Green hydrogen can be used by OCI Methanol Europe for the production of renewable methanol to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 27,000 tonnes per year.

“Djewels will be the first site of this scale to use McPhy’s ‘Augmented McLyzer’ technology with higher current density, allowing more production flexibility with reduced space requirements,” the company says.

Marcel Galjee, Managing Director of HyCC, says: ‘The production of green hydrogen must increase significantly in the coming years if we are to meet the European climate targets for 2030.’
