McPhy selected to equip a 100 MW electrolysis platform in Portugal


(AOF) – McPhy has been selected as preferred supplier to equip the GreenH2Atlantic project in Sines, Portugal with a 100 MW electrolysis platform. Terms and conditions have been negotiated and the supply agreement is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2022. The project aims to demonstrate the viability of green hydrogen at an unprecedented scale of production and technological application.

GreenH2Atlantic was one of three projects selected under the Horizon 2020 – Green Deal call for tender aimed at demonstrating the viability of green hydrogen production on an unprecedented scale.

The € 30 million grant will help finance the construction of the hydrogen production platform, located on the site of the Sines thermoelectric power station. Construction is expected to begin in 2023 and operation to start in 2025, subject to obtaining the necessary authorizations from the authorities.
