Me, Renart: Does Mouflard end up behind bars at the end of the cartoon?

Find out how the cartoon “Moi Renart” ends, which made the heyday of Canal +, then France 3 and M6 during the 80s and 90s.

“Renart, scoundrel! Sacripouille, flirtatious rascal! Renart, scoundrel! Chacripouille sacred scoundrel! Renaaaaart”… Created in 1986, Moi Renart is a cartoon inspired by the Roman de Renart, which transposes the characters and plots to the 1980s. Imagined by Bruno René Huchez, it was broadcast on Canal+ in 1986 then FR3 and M6 in M6 Kids.

Renart is a provincial arriving in Paris with his little monkey Marmouset to create “Agence Renart”, which claims to be able to do everything. He will come up against the gangster Mouflard and his henchmen. Renart often meets his uncle Ysengrin and his aunt Hersent. He dates Hermeline, a journalist.

The story of the 26th and last episode opens with the arrival of 5 flying saucers landing on Earth. The President orders to welcome the aliens with flowers, but the Defense prefers to shoot them. Their missiles are powerless to cross the metal of the saucers, which retaliate and destroy the army tanks which threatened them.

Petula welcomes aliens

Petula, a french fries seller whom Flop, son of a hamburger magnate, wishes to marry, claims that Niakor, Prince of the Supermega planet, will come to get her. And indeed, the invaders recover Petula and leave.

We then realize that everything that came before was actually a Steven Spielberg movie called super mega attack. Renart and Hermeline are in the queue to find out and are hiding from Ysengrin and Dame Hersent who just come out of the room. She loved the movie.

In the cinema queue

The discussion begins despite everything, while on their side, the gangsters Belet and Bud-Vilin steal the publicity photos of the film on behalf of Mouflard, the big bad of the series. Renart and Hermeline follow them to their lair.

Mouflard built a wooden flying saucer powered by pedals spinning propellers. The idea is to loot the Credit horticole bank in a flying saucer disguised as the extraterrestrials from the film in order to surf on the success of Supermega Attack and create panic. Renart is spotted and Hermeline and he are taken prisoner.

Mouflard’s plan creates the foreseen panic by attacking the Crédit Horticole, but Belet and Bud-Vilin cannot loot the bank because Aunt Hersent tries to convince her to prevail like Petula gets kidnapped in Spielberg’s film. They leave for a train attack.

Renart and Hermeline escape. The plans of Belet and Bud-Vilin are stopped by the army which destroys their flying saucer and Renart, disguised as a Martian and having camouflaged his helicopter as a flying saucer, pretends to be Niakor and steals their money. Mouflard is left alone in his lair, free.

Gangsters face off against a movie character

Renart flies over the city redistributing the money to the good people and, still dressed as an alien, “abducts”, his aunt as Petula is in Spielberg’s film. She is very moved, and it is the end of the episode as of the series.
