Medicines: home delivery services are increasingly in demand

After meals, spirits or shopping, it is now possible to have the medication of your choice delivered to your home or work, in one click. The founder of one of these applications has noticed a marked increase in demand for these services since the Covid-19 crisis, as he explains at the microphone of Europe 1.

If the uberization of catering has become widely democratized, that of medication promises to do the same. It is now possible to have medicines delivered to your home or work within an hour. Enough to help those in a hurry to relieve a little pain, like Thomas who only needed to take the elevator to pick up his order at the office. “I was in a meeting so far and in the little sachet, it’s Doliprane because I have back pain.” For an order similar to that of Thomas, it takes about three euros for delivery, while the price of the box of Doliprane is worth one less.

“There was a before and an after Covid”

Like him, thousands of French people scan their prescriptions on the Livmed’s, Mymediks or even Pharmao applications. Nicolas Schweizer, the founder of Pharmao, notes at the microphone of Europe 1, an explosion in demand: “There was a before and after Covid. Today, we make 500 deliveries a day at the national level, it is a number that’s constantly changing. So I think it’s going to grow a lot over time.” It is therefore necessary to plan for a minimum cost of 3.90 euros for this service, without forgetting the variability of the price of delivery, depending on the distance between the pharmacy and the patient’s home.
