The 40-year-old Le Havre rapper, with controversial words and positions on secularism, will also participate in the Fête de l’Humanité. Invitations that arouse controversy.
By inviting the rapper Médine to their respective summer universities, Europe Écologie les Verts and la France insoumise did not fail to react. Because in the discography of the Le Havre rapper, aged 40, we find, for example, an album released in 2005, entitled Jihad. The artist is also accused by some of complacency with Islamism, in particular because of a title released in 2015, called “Don’t Laïk” and in which Medina sings: “Crucify the secularists as in Golgotha”.
Accused of proximity to the Muslim Brotherhood
This piece, released the same year as the attacks on the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo shocked part of the public. The right and the identitarians then fought to cancel one of his concerts planned at the Bataclan in 2018. The rapper is also accused of closeness to the Muslim Brotherhood, especially since participating in a conference by Tariq Ramadan ten years. The following year, he sponsored a charity gala for Palestine.
The same year, he reproduced several times the quenelle, popularized by Dieudonné and perceived as an anti-Semitic symbol while he defended himself from it and pleaded for an anti-system gesture. Lately, Médine has positioned itself against the pension reform, but also against the arrival of Marine Le Pen in Le Havre, who had qualified the rapper’s words as “infamy”. The Greens like the Insoumis justify the artist’s invitation by the latter’s latest positions but also by his fight “against police violence”.
