Medion launches a slew of PCs for less than €500 for the start of the school year

Medion is still relying on its German know-how even though the company was bought out in 2011 by Lenovo, which holds around 80% of its capital. The brand’s products had disappeared from the French market until last year and after a big focus on the gaminghere are six more affordable laptops with prices ranging from 249 to 699 € and which run on Windows 11. The range starts with a 14 inch, a format offering a good compromise between compactness and comfortable display surface. Medion makes it its entry ticket, since this machine is displayed at only 249 €. Of course, for this price, you will not have a racing beast. The processor is an Intel Celeron N4120, a chip engraved in 14 Nm and launched at the end of 2019. On the program, four physical cores whose frequency can vary between 1.1 and 2.6 GHz. The processor has a TDP of only 6 W, which suggests good battery life. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A trio of 15.6 inches to get down to business

Medion then offers three machines in 15.6 inch Full HD which will differ in their configurations. The first model is at 479 €. For this price, the user can count on an Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor. This has two physical cores as well as hyperthreading. Its base frequency is 3 GHz or 4.1 GHz in Turbo mode. 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage complete the package.

For only €70 extra, a stronger configuration is available. On the program, an Intel Core i5-1155G7 processor (four hyperthreaded physical cores and maximum frequency in Turbo mode of 4.5 GHz). Storage doubles to 512 GB.

Finally, still in 15.6 inches, the most expensive version will cost you €699. It can count on an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, whose maximum frequency in Turbo mode is 4.7 GHz. If the storage capacity remains fixed at 512 GB, the RAM is doubled to reach 16 GB.

Two 16 inches to see things big

Two versions on the same base in 16 inches and still in Full HD complete the picture. The least expensive version is displayed at €479 with the Intel Core i3-1115G4 processor already mentioned, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Then comes a version sold at 549 € which is based on an Intel Core i5-1155G7, 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

These PCs therefore display attractive prices, but there is a compromise to be made, and not the least: the 11th generation Intel processors are already two years old, and the 14th generation will show up by the end of the year. ‘year.
