Meet our favorite heavy flow period panties

After dozens of tests and a few failures, we managed to find the perfect period panties for very heavy flow. Discover in this article our favorite menstrual panty model for intense period days!

As you may know, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to period panties to help you make the right choice. This comparison was born thanks to our thorough investigation to dissect each brand, as well as the conscientious test by 3 women. They tested each period panty month after month, to test comfort, elegance and absorbency.

Julie, one of our testers with a very heavy flow, was able to establish a selection of the best menstrual panties specially adapted in case of heavy periods.
This selection allows you to highlight the most effective models if you have a very abundant flow, so that you can last between 8 and 12 hours without problem.

One of the models particularly caught our attention, whether in terms of its comfort or its absorption capacity, and it is the Moodz Swiss dot shorty:

Moodz: the comfortable and reassuring shorty

The Moodz brand was launched in 2019 with the desire to offer models of comfortable period panties that can allow menstruating people to feel comfortable during their period. The brand now offers models of all shapes and colors, adapted according to the flow, as well as menstrual swimsuits. The panties are made in Lisbon, Portugal, and the brand has its own road transport system, to limit the ecological impact of the products.

Focus on the black dotted shorty that convinced Julie, our tester:

The Moodz Swiss dot menstrual shorty has been designed to absorb the equivalent of 3 to 4 conventional tampons, so that it can last all day without any problem in the event of an intense flow.
It has a pretty golden edging around the bottom, and openwork lace on the sides. The cut is well covering, and the absorption zone goes up well at the level of the buttocks.

Little more : the cotton that makes up the inside of the panties is certified organic (GOTS). The absorbent part is made of tencel, a natural material derived from eucalyptus fibers, particularly appreciated for its absorbent and anti-microbial power.

Julie’s review:
“I’m very satisfied, it’s pretty and absorbs well, it’s adopted! The dotted Swiss is also very hot”.

How to use menstrual panties?

The menstrual panties completely replace the classic hygienic protections (tampons, towels, cup).
Concretely, you just have to put it on in the morning, and take it off in the evening (for daytime use, for example). In case of very abundant or haemorrhagic flow, it is possible that the duration of effectiveness is shorter, this will obviously have to be adapted on a case-by-case basis.

How to wash period panties?

For washing, nothing could be simpler:

– Rinse the panties for the first time with cold water to disgorge the blood
– Put in the washing machine, ideally at 30° or wash by hand but without greasy soap (no Marseille soap or oil-based soap)
– Do not use fabric softener, which damages the fibers of the panties
– Leave to dry in the open air (and not in the dryer or on a radiator!)
