Mega track in one go – Triumph Tiger 1200 GT sets a 24-hour record

Spaniard Iván Cervantes has set the world record for the longest distance covered on a motorcycle in 24 hours on a Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Explorer.

The five-time enduro world champion and motocross champion as well as 21-time Spanish enduro champion and five-time Spanish motocross champion covered exactly 4012.53 kilometers on the high-speed Nardò circuit. This corresponds to the route from London to the Great Pyramid of Giza. In preparation for this, the Triumph brand ambassador also trained on his own Tiger 1200 Rally Pro. A machine was randomly selected from the production line at the Hinckley factory for the Guinness Book of Records ride. Standard features such as the 30-litre tank, the wind deflector and heated grips and seats, along with the driver’s constitution, formed a good basis for the long-distance drive in Italy.Iván Cervantes drove almost constantly at speeds over 200 km/h and held the existing Guinness record from 2017 exceeded after 19 hours. The only maintenance on the motorcycle was the tire change planned halfway through the journey. There were also 17 more pit stops to refuel. The average speed at the end was 167.79 km/h, more than 25 km/h more than the old record. (awm)
