PMore than forty-eight thousand hectares have burned in France since the beginning of the year. Never seen. Monster fires follow one another in Gironde. The Brocéliande forest in Brittany or the Jura mountains are no longer spared by major fires. The fire season could even last until October. The seriousness of the situation surprises even the most seasoned specialists. This is the case of Sébastien Lahaye, firefighter turned scientist, expert in large fires and coordinator of European projects around fire management.
